Client’s Needs:
One of the best-known real estate properties in New York City approached CCTV Security Ltd. with several critical security needs. First and foremost, the organization needed visual monitoring of vital operational areas as well as visitor and tenant locations. With over 800 tenants and more than 100 floors, the client needed to control access to a large number of sensitive areas.
CCTV Security Ltd.’s Customized Solution:
CCTV Security Ltd. designed and installed a state-of-the-art integrated security system, which included alarm monitoring, access control, intrusion detection, closed circuit TV and communications as part of a customized solution for the client.
A visual monitoring system watches over the building perimeter, loading dock, shipping, receiving, visitor and tenant areas. An alarm with automatic video recording is used in public traffic areas and stairwells. This design provides the client with a complete solution for their visual monitoring needs.
An access control system addresses several major issues involved with the large number of tenants and floor levels. The system provides access for selected personnel to sensitive areas at specific times, as well as tenant and visitor access during off-hours. In addition, the system manages time and attendance; by networking the office computers, division managers are able to monitor their own personnel.
An extensive communication system was also included, with 2-way communication between monitoring locations and crucial areas of the facility. This improved the efficiency of guard response to critical situations throughout the building.
While the main monitoring stations have primary command and control, seven sub-stations located throughout the building are able to monitor any camera in the system within their sphere of responsibility should the need arise. The primary monitoring room has overall command control, while the second main location is a workstation in the building lobby, manned 24/7 by security personnel.
